This Automotive voltage tester tests for voltage between 0.8-100VDC. it comes in a nice zippered case to store it in.It has an easy to read display which has a back light setting. It has a sharp probe with a safety cover for piercing into the wires insulation to check for voltage.Also a hold setting which will keep the measurement stored . It only works for DC voltage with a max of 100 volts.It is also useful for testing low voltage batteries such as AA, AAA, C, D and other small batteries.It is reasonably priced.It is a handy little gadget I rate it at 5 stars.

Starting with the bad is the case its like they throw it in there last minute and it won't fit properly its a little bit to small and it some work to git the probe in there .But other then that its a pretty good tool ! it runs on 1x AAA battery I wish it was a researchable but I guess its ok for the price can't ask much. This circuit tester was selected mainly for its audible continuity tester. It will let you know if a fuse is blown or a wire is broken. This unit is powered by a single AAA battery that is not included in the kit. The unit comes with a case and an attached probe wire with a spring clip. This setup permits one-handed operation in an engine compartment. There is a small LED flashlight angled to the tip of the metal probe. The probe has a protective cap integrated into the coiled probe wire. The unit has a backlit LCD readout that can be turned on or off manually. When on, the unit has a smart auto system that looks for the most viable option of DC voltage, resistance, or continuity as the number you are looking for. Mit dem Circuit-Tester lassen sich Spannungen und Widerstände messen. Die widersprüchlichen Angaben von 100/300V habe ich nicht überprüft. Wobei in der englischen Anleitung ganz klar davon abgeraten wird, Spannungen über 110V messen zu wollen.Aber Spannungen im PKW-Bereich (12-15V) lassen sich gut messen.Der Tester benötigt eine AAA-Batterie. Über die ON-Taste schaltet man ihn ein, Krokodilklemme an Masse und Messspitze an spannungsführende Stelle und man bekommt die anliegende Spannung auf dem Display angezeigt. Das Display lässt sich auf Knopfdruck in grün beleuchten.Eine Widerstandsmessung ist auch ganz einfach! Beispiel einstellbarer Widerstand: Krokoklemme an den einen Anschluss (in diesem Fall die schwarze Krokoklemme)Prüfspitze an die rote Krokoklemme und schon bekommt man bei eingeschaltetem Tester den Widerstand angezeigt.Wer nur Spannungen und Widerstände messen möchte und von einem herkömmlichen Multimeter überfordert ist, ist mit diesem Gerät wahrscheinlich ganz gut bedient!?Mir gefällt's!

Really like this little tester , I work in a garage and it will really come in handy .It reads voltage , resistance and continuity . I will be using it within the 12 v -24 v scale so it will be ideal for me .The tester requires an AAA battery which is not supplied and fits in the back after unscrewing a little compartment .Press the power button and it turns on , press the light button and the back light to the display lights up , press it again and an led on the tip of the casing lights up.It also has a hold button , which holds the reading in the display for you so it stays there when you pull the probe off the contact it is currently readingIt has a metal probe on the end which is quite sharp and has a plastic sheath to go on top to prevent an accident and at the other end you have the coiled earth lead with a clip on the end to attach to a ground pointReally useful tool and not too complicated like some others.Can really see me using this most days , really pleased wit it and would recommend

This automotive power circuit probe is super handy to keep in the electrical box, and I have used probes like this quite a bit over the years.I put this one to work hardwiring a dashcam kit with parking monitoring. That setup stays on all the time and has an internal cutoff when the battery drops below some threshold. I do not even know the exact number. What I do know is this probe makes it easy to find the right breaker for constant power and the right one for ignition power. That is about 99 percent of how I use it. Honestly I cannot remember using one for much else.This unit did great at that job. I appreciate the little case, the clip that holds the wire, and the tip protector. Simple kit, real help.Super helpful. I like it a lot.Highly recommended.Pros:- Perfect for finding constant power and ignition power during dashcam hardwire installs.- Covers basically all the probe work I actually do on cars.- Case, wire clip, and tip protector are thoughtful extras.- Familiar tool type I have relied on for years.- Makes parking monitor wiring less of a guessing game.Cons:- My use case is narrow, almost entirely power side identification.- I do not know the exact low battery cutoff on the dashcam kit I wired.

This is a very handy thing to have if you're trying to probe out problems on your vehicle. I've used many meters and testers over the years so I know what I'm talking about. The only thing I wish on this one is it went down below 0.8 volts for a measurement. But this is auto ranging and Auto selecting. Which means if you're measuring voltage it shows voltage. And that works quite well. And we'll work for most of your 0 to 5 volt outputs on your sensors. If there's no voltage present or less than half of all it will show resistance. Which also works quite well up into the megohms. I tested this with my skin resistance and it worked well. I also spot checked it on some resistors for accuracy, and that worked very well too. Things I like about this unit are they have a tip probe tip cover attached to the ground lug. Nice when you take it out and when you store it you don't jab yourself with the tip. Another thing I really like is the backlight it's nice and bright and works well. It does have a flashlight built in which is also a big plus. It's a wimpy flashlight but if it's dark where you're trying to probe a little light is all you need sometimes to identify a number on a connector to make sure your probing the right wire. And I like the fact it does basic resistance measurements because a lot of times you can test out some sensors without power at all, like a coolant sensor or a throttle position sensor that just puts out a variable resistance depending upon position. I also really like the fact that this thing is self-powered with the battery, aaa, which I wish was a double A but that's another story. But the fact that it's self-powered means you don't have to have another clip going to the positive on the battery and then it gets really cumbersome to use it over your vehicle. This one all you need is a ground and it doesn't have to be on the battery terminal it can be any ground in the car provided it's actually grounded and there isn't a problem with the ground system. But you can check that resistance with this meter. It's also nice that these have come down in price a lot, that makes this meter a fantastic value and really practical to get as a spare item even just to toss and your glove box. Just don't forget to take the battery out when not using for a long time. Almost all alkaline batteries I've ever used leak eventually. I've learned the hard way, when I'm done using something I just take the battery out and put it in a baby ziplock bag and store it with the unit. So for some reason I don't use it for a long time and the battery leaks it's no consequence. It also prevents parasitic battery draining that will result in it leaking. Things that don't have hard on off switches can draw a microamps over a long period of time. I recommend getting this unit and I'm very happy I got it. It's very functional and should last a long time. And it's very easy to use.

I do automotive work and already have regular multimeters, but what I like about this tester is its size, quick accessibility, and ability to use it one-handed. For basic automotive electrical troubleshooting, I can see myself grabbing this instead of getting out a full-size multimeter.The tester arrived in good condition with no damage. Build quality is better than I expected for the price. It doesn’t feel cheap, the probe feels sturdy, and the tip is sharp enough that you could pierce wire insulation if necessary. The ground clamp is somewhat large, but that’s actually useful because it has a strong grip and can clamp onto everything from smaller grounding points to larger bolts or a battery negative terminal.The coiled lead is a nice design. It gives you a good amount of working length and then coils back up for storage. I especially like that the protective cap for the probe is attached to the wire. That’s a small detail, but it means I’m not going to lose the cap, and it helps keep the sharp probe protected when stored.It uses one AAA battery, which is not included. The LCD is very easy to read and the green backlight works well. There is also a built-in flashlight, although it isn’t particularly bright. I haven’t used it in a dark engine bay yet, so it may prove useful there, but don’t expect it to replace an actual work light.For testing, I checked a 1.5V AA battery and got a reading of 1.621V. I then reversed the polarity and it correctly displayed -1.621V. I also tested the continuity function and the audible buzzer worked properly. The automatic detection works as advertised, the hold function works well, and I confirmed that the tester shuts itself off when left unused.I have not yet tested it on a vehicle’s 12V system or compared its resistance readings against another meter, so I can’t comment on those aspects yet.The included zippered case is nice to have, although I wish they had made it just a little longer. Everything fits, but a little extra room would make putting the tester away easier. My other minor complaint is the battery compartment. I really wish manufacturers would stop using tiny screws to secure battery covers on tools like this. It’s unnecessary and makes a simple battery change more troublesome than it needs to be.For around $22, I think this is a good value and I would pay that for it myself. I wouldn’t consider it a replacement for my regular multimeter in every situation, especially when working with higher voltages, but for DC automotive work and quick one-handed troubleshooting, it’s a very convenient tool to have.

A spiral cable allows connection to a grounded source while the probe end checks for DC current. A handy, zippered carry case is included.

Easy to use. the back light will come in handy. Seems to be of a high quality both in materials and programing easy to figure out how to use all the features if one reads theeasy to follow to directions.

Lightweight and fits nicely in your pocket. Measures resistance, voltage and continuity. Comes with a zippered case and has a tip cover that is attached to the clip end of the ground lead. Senses polarity and displays it. Has audible beep continuity feature. Requires a aaa battery that isn't included. Works well and auto detects modes. I really like the backlight, it helps you see the display better in some lighting situations. I am a car guy and do a lot with low voltage dc troubleshooting and wiring on my hot rod projects. This will be in my traveling tool kit at all times. Combine this with a longer extension lead and you can troubleshoot auto electrical issues from one end to the other of any vehicle. Came quickly and $21.99 at time of order a little high in price for me, that is why I gave it 4 stars. I will update this review if any problems arise after it sees some use in my shop.

This is a very nice test probe. It works exactly as it is supposed to. I was able to check voltage and continuity quite easily and it automatically switched modes without me having to select anything. The length of the cord is reasonable for most use but I have plenty of extensions I can use if it needs to be longer. The only issue I have with the one I got is that the screw on the battery door is missing. I'm not sure if I will be able to find one like that in my screw collection. The door does slide open fairly easily so this is kind of irritating.

Excellent must have tool when you are trying to solve issues in your wiring, fuse links, and will check resistance. The unit will require a battery to unleash the power of the probe tester. The tip comes with a cover so you don't accidently stick yourself. The LED flashlight is a plus but it is not very bright but it is not a deal breaker, and the screen is backlit and easy to read. Another plus is you can check the voltage of your batteries if you run out of repairs. The unit is user friendly, comes in a case, and provides audible alerts and is perfect for the DIY user. Great price on an outstanding tool.
